Three Avatar & Header Sets
I wanted to create avatars I could use for years. I prefer not to use a photograph of myself, but I still want them to say something about me: relaxed, curious, independent-minded, and ambitious.
I developed these images with AI over many revisions. The early versions featured more detailed portraits. Eventually, I settled on figures seen from behind, broad areas of blue, orange, and cream, simpler backgrounds, and looser, sketch-like lines. The three sets look similar at a glance, but each represents a different stage.
Set 1
The figure stands looking into the distance. A single bright star appears in the header. This is the stage of having ambitions and things to look forward to, without yet knowing how to get there.
Set 2
The figure starts walking, while fragments of a route appear in the header. Plans are taking shape and turning into action, though there is still plenty of trial and error. Some decisions only become clearer along the way.
Set 3
The figure is now seated, looking more at ease. The line in the header passes through a series of deep dips before rising and branching out. I’ve been through plenty of setbacks myself, and I wanted those experiences to be part of the image. As long as I believe in the direction I’m taking, I can keep putting in the work and finding ways through whatever comes next.
The framing moves closer from one avatar to the next. Together, the three sets reflect who I am at twenty, alongside the person I hope to become.
